galería de Tomás is a small gallery based in Denver, which specializes in pottery from Mata Ortiz, Mexico.

Over the past four decades we have traveled extensively around the world, all the while collecting art, jewelry, and all kinds of interesting things. After reading about the beautiful and distinctive pottery from Mata Ortiz, Mexico, we decided to visit there. A chance encounter with a local resident resulted in meeting some of the better-known potters, and the idea of how we could share this art form with other people. This resulted in the creation of galería de Tomás.

Selling our pottery on the Internet rather than from a store allows us to keep our prices lower. There is an area in our home where the pots, along with paintings and photographs, are available for viewing by appointment. We also have an open house several times each year, to allow people to view our inventory. We currently have quite a number of pots for sale, but we still travel to Mata Ortiz often. This is always exciting, as it allows us to see the new designs and styles that have been created since our last visit.
