The pots are works of art. They should not be used to hold water or store food - definitely not for cooking. The firing of the pots is about thirty to forty-five minutes, which is not enough to create a utility item. The heat is created by burning cow dung or pine logs. Cleaning of your olla should be done carefully by dusting with a soft cloth. Avoid using water or other liquids with which to clean. Handle the pot as little as possible to avoid smudging, which will take away from the "shine". All pottery is fragile. So do handle yours with care and you will enjoy it for many years. |
